WHY THE AWARDS COMMITTEE SELECTED HER NOMINATION

A consummate educator Sarah Billings has been a passionate advocate for payments throughout her career promoting a better understanding of the complexity of our industry both inside and outside of her organization. A frequent speaker and participant on advisory boards, committees and forums she excels in tailoring her communication and approach in accordance with her audience. Her thoughtful, common sense style makes her the ‘go-to’ person for both junior talent and senior executives.

A huge promoter of diversity, mentorship and ongoing learning, Elizabeth has been heavily engaged in the Power of 10, a grass roots networking organization that connects director level women with senior executives in a more causal social setting. Inspired by this concept and wanting to include more junior diverse talent she created Four-for-Lunch, a monthly meeting of four women leaders who are invited to discuss business challenges and brainstorm opportunity creation.

As we all know transformation and change management are the buzzwords of our age, and Sarah uses education to help remove fear and resistance to change across an organization, she facilitates discussions, encourages debate and is recognized as a thought leader. Her thirst for knowledge and her capacity and generosity in sharing it with others makes Sarah our Women in Payments 2017 Award Winner for Education.
