Joanna has over fifteen years of experience in payments with expertise in strategy and policy, as well as product and program management.
Joanna spent fourteen years at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. There she worked in the Bank Supervision Group overseeing large financial institutions’ payments processing activities, in the Payments Policy Group coordinating an industry Task Force, and in Fedwire Securities and Funds Service, leading strategy and product management. In this capacity, she also contributed to business case analysis for a U.S. central bank-operated fast payments system.
To pursue her passion for financial inclusion, Joanna moved to Myanmar to work at a commercial bank building up its transaction banking team and leading a United Nations-funded financial inclusion program.
Joanna holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelors in Economics from New York University.
